Count it All Joy! God knows everything, the beginning from the end. He knew before I was born what He wanted me to accomplish and how He wanted it done. I’ll be the first to admit, while I have mostly ran toward the vision (yep I said mostly, sometimes I tried running away), I didn’t always get everything exactly right. In hind sight, I guess that is actually the difference between knowledge and wisdom. Many times I have joked about how I have learned how NOT to build an orphanage! But through this journey, God has gently corrected the direction and amazing things have been accomplished!
An old African proverb says, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” As I write this update, we are just over 2 months from our next journey to Africa. We have to go far — quickly”.

Together, we are called to “Go and make disciples” This is the primary mission for every believer. The Bible says “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor.” So far, we have a team of 7 missionaries (still room for 3 more) going on this trip. Our tickets are booked for September 18th – October 4th to fly back to Uganda and build the 10th and final project in our 2020 Vision! Tenamuza Child Development Center will be located in Mukono, Uganda – a small village just outside of Entebbe. Ivan and Immaculate, along with their leadership team are very excited and eagerly awaiting our arrival!

We will build a primary school that will also house orphans and at-risk children. In addition, I am very excited to announce that we will be working with indigenous ministries to plant a new church on the same compound. All this in a little village that has a heavy muslim influence. We will work with the local teams doing home to home evangelism, men’s, women’s and children’s ministry, and also leadership training. If Covid restrictions allow, we are also planning an Open Air Evangelistic Crusade. Having a church plant in this village will be a positive place to direct new converts. The new pastor and church plant team are already being trained for this endeavor. Please keep this in your prayers as I am praying and believing for many salvations during this trip!

Work is already in process! The architect has drawn the blueprints, approvals with government authorities are in process, pit latrine is being dug and training is taking place for the church plant team! There is much that must be accomplished before I arrive so I can begin construction immediately. (No time for jet lag!)

Needless to say, 2020 was full of challenges and delays but God still sits on the Throne and still directs our steps! Lockdowns, airport closures and an unexpected surgery caused some delays but WE ARE MOVING FORWARD! The cost to build this project is $28,000 of which half of this budget has already come in! We are so close to completing the 2020 Vision!
