July Kenya Update

Our former Administrator, Calvince, has moved on to pursue other interests – who knows, we may see him in polotics some day soon!  We feel very blessed that Jonah has joined our family at Carry the Light Children’s Home – Usigu as our new Administrator. Along with his many qualifications and skills, he has 5 years experience as an Administrator of a school and experience as a youth pastor.  Craig and Cherie report that his quiet, gentle, and relational ways are having very positive effects. The children are responding well to his method of encouraging them to participate in his teaching of the Word and the staff respect his leadership. Praise God!

KID LIFE –

KENYA

Savannah and Meris did a great job leading our Kid Life services and the kids loved every minute of it!  They sang, played games, and received critical foundational teaching from the Word of God including lessons on Salvation, Worship, and Prayer.

NEW DRESSES AND HOODIES

Special thanks to Cyndi Scott and her Seam Team who made dresses and skirts for our girls and also to Jennifer Fortner from Pillar Church in Rockwall who collected hoodies for our boys.  Your efforts were such a blessing!

Among the many things accomplished on this trip was the beginning of the roof being added to the left wing of the Carry the Light Christian Academy.  Our children are doing well in school and our teachers look forward to the time when they can use the entire building for classes.

We also completed the floor tiling in the girl’s dorm rooms as well as fresh paint. It looks beautiful!

In addition to our construction efforts, we conducted staff development training and preaching and teaching in the local church.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!

Once again, we had an awesome birthday party for our children!  Each child received a birthday bag filled with school supplies and other goodies.  Thank you to all Sponsors, for your donations that allowed the party to take place.

GET MARRIED – FINALLY!!!

Pastor Joshua and one of our room mothers, Susan, were married last month.  It was a beautiful ceremony and we wish them a long life full of marital happiness.

HONDURAS TRIP

July 11-21

We have 3 teams leaving this week for Honduras including a team from Pillar Church in Rockwall, Texas and Portico Ministries from the Houston area.  We will all meet up and enjoy ministering together from July 10th – 21st.  Please remember our trip in prayer.  There will be construction, Kid Life Children’s Church, painting, and many other ministry endeavors.One of the most exciting things about this trip is our partnering with the  “One Nation, One Day” ministry effort that will take place next week.  We will be going into public schools to share testimonies, perform dramas, and share the Gospel.  On Friday morning, I will be teaching in a pastors fellowship and then that evening I will be preaching to a crowd in a soccer stadium in Marcala.  The trip culminates on Saturday where our teams will participate in the nationwide “One Nation, One Day” effort to evangelize a whole nation in a single day! We will be joining with over 2,000 other missionaries in Honduras in one accord to advance the Gospel to every state of the nation at the same time!  Simulcasts will be transmitted around the world in this massive effort to shake a nation.  Please pray for the salvation of Honduras!

Several of our children in Honduras are still in need of sponsors.  You can sponsor at the level of participation you desire.  Partial sponsorships are $50.00 per month; a full sponsorship is $150.00 per month.
