Help us help them – CTL Children’s Homes and Christian Academies are changing the lives of children around the world.

Coming Soon: CTL Glory Park Children’s Home and Academy

Currently, the children of Glory Park Education Center are meeting in temporary structures as shown above.  The Nursery Class meets inside the mud-walled church building, while Grade 1 meets under a tree, and Grades 2 and 3 meet in the temporary structure.  At current, the program has grown to include 85 students from the local community.  In Kenya, public school systems can easily have as many as 80 or more students for 1 teacher causing students to receive a sub-standard education.  CTL Christian Academies limit the ratio to 25 students for 1 teacher giving the children more individualized attention.  Prior to enrolling, many of these children had not been to school, however, Glory Park is already performing better than many of the public and private schools in the area.  Many of these children are orphans and are currently being assisted from their homes.  They receive meals while at school, but our plans are to take 20 of the most desperate situations and bring them into the home which will be built as part of the project.  The capacity of the academy will be 250 children from Nursery through Grade 8 allowing us to make a greater impact in the small village of Nyasita, Kenya.  Even amidst challenges with space, especially during the rainy season, they are grateful to be able to attend school.  These precious children are excited about the opportunity to learn and grow and CTL is excited about expanding that opportunity by providing a permanent solution to their facility needs!

Project Cost To Build

CTL Glory Park Children’s Home and Christian Academy will cost $85,000 to build.  The project will include an orphanage capable of housing 20 children and staff, a Christian Academy with a capacity of 250 students from Nursery School through Grade 8, administrative offices, and library / multi purpose rooms.  The land has already been donated and fundraising for construction is now underway.  Estimated construction time is 2 mission trips of a month each beginning in February, 2015 and finalizing in June, 2015.  The project will be built by mission team members from both the USA and Kenya as well as local volunteers and day-laborers.  Prospective USA mission team members are encouraged to request additional information as soon as possible as space is limited to 10 team members.

BACKGROUND HISTORY

I met Bishop Isaiah Okumu on my first trip to Kenya back in January, 2004.  Little did I know that God was knitting our hearts together for a lifelong friendship and service together ministering in Kenya.  Isaiah was there for me when I preached my first open-air crusade, and I was there for him at his wedding, soon to be followed by his wife’s funeral, and then another wedding some time later. Isaiah was the primary driving force in Kenya for identifying and rescuing the orphans we now have in our home in Usigu and he was our first Administrator of that home.  He currently serves as Principal at the Academy.  It is because of his vision that Glory Park exists.  Along with his family and church, he saw a need and stepped out in faith to plant Glory Park some 3 years ago.  Today, they have 85 students with many more waiting for available space.  There is plenty of fresh water at the family’s homesite just across from the property where the project will be.  Both his family and church are very supportive of the project giving money from their own pockets as well as time and energy.  I have personally known, and worked beside Isaiah for more than 10 years.  His ministry shows great fruit and potential and I am honored to be a part.                                                                        Rev. A Word From Our Founder . . .

Building orphanages and schools in developing countries comes with plenty of challenges.  Dealing with corrupt governments, frequently changing laws, and fluctuations in currencies and inflation are just a few.  Adding to those challenges, our ministry is continuously fundraising as we complete one project and move on to the next.  But the one thing that remains constant is the need.  With every ounce of energy we are striving to meet that need.  I cannot begin to express how thankful I am for all of those that stand with us financially to change the lives of the precious children.  May God bless you many times over!

What is the CTL Network of homes and Vision 10?

Our vision includes building 10 children’s homes around the world and connecting them through a network allowing each home to share in collective knowledge and experiences which offer the ability to make all homes more effective in carrying for our children and raising them up in the knowledge of Christ.  Each of our homes around the world offer small family atmospheres as well as the understanding that they belong to a larger family which is bigger than what they can physically see and touch.  This also helps them understand that they are part of an even bigger family – the family of God.  Homes network information, experiences, and ideas for the enhancement of all.

Will there by an exchange program?

It is our plan in the next few months to launch an exchange program where students from 3 of our homes (Usigu – Kenya, Mubende – Uganda, and Nyasita – Kenya) will be able to exchange students for a period of a month or so in order to offer students an opportunity to expand their culture.

Can I sponsor a child at Glory Park?

While it is not our immediate intention to launch a 100% sponsorship program, we welcome anyone who would be interested in sponsoring a child or the project to do so.  For more information on this topic, give us a call or email.
