Teams from Portico Ministries from Port Arthur, Texas, and Pillar Church in Rockwall, Texas, joined us on this trip. They worked extremely hard and we were blown away by all of their efforts!
We had the priveledge of preaching and teaching in several church services, sharing the love of God and the Gospel message.
Ministry teams shared the Gospel in six schools on several different mountains. The student’s were very excited and responsive. It was so awesome to be able to share openly in the public schools. Here in America, God has been shut out of the schools. We didn’t have to be careful of what we said, we just told them about Jesus with no “candy coating”!
I was invited to speak at the local Pastor’s fellowship with many Pastors in attendance. They were eager to hear a Word from the Lord and were very receptive to the message that “We Need Each Other” as I taught on the Motivational Gifts as outlined in Romans 12.
There were an estimated 3,000-4,000 people in attendance at the crusade on the soccer field in Marcala, La Paz, Honduras. There was a mighty move of the Holy Spirit at the end as people came forward to committ their lives to Christ and receive healing in their bodies. Just before we went on, Norman (my interpretor) told me he was a little nervous because he had never spoken to this many people. I told him to just pick out 1 person from the crowd and preach to them. Needless to say, HE DID AWESOME!!!
It was refreshing to see the Governer of La Paz (left) and the Mayor of Marcala (right) worshipping with us.
The entire Nation of Honduras was flooded with approximately 2,000 missionaries and each of the 18 states held a crusade meeting at the same time on Saturday, July 20th. In La Paz, around 10,000 people met in a soccer stadium to proclaim Jesus is Lord of the new Honduras. The Mayor of La Paz gave his life to Christ on stage professing “Yo quiero Jesus” (I want Jesus) in front of the whole crowd. It was an amazing experience to be there and share in this historic occasion. The newspapers reported that over one million people attended the crusades. To God be all the glory for what He is doing in Honduras!
The Portico team worked very hard to paint the beautiful wall mural in our pavilion as well as the Days of Creation. Several more from the other teams pitched in to get the project completed. It is truly beautiful!
“Thank you, Lord, for the multitude of blessings in this trip to Honduras; that my husband was able to go and be used and blessed; that I felt your Presence with us constantly; for the opportunity to serve and show Your love to the beautiful, sweet children in the home on the mountain at Guascapousca. For fellowship with Pastor Salomon and his lovely family, and with the team from Portico, Norman, Vickie, Greg and our Pillar team and all the other wonderful people we met and worked with in Honduras. Thank you for the opportunity to minister in the schools and to watch You answer the prayers of a nation in need. Thank you for blessing us with the financial ability to sponsor some of the children. Thank you for the tears of joy and the yearning in my heart to return and hug each child again.”

We have maize, beans, avacados, yucca, and many other foods getting ready for our first harvest. The Bible says that we reap what we sow!
We celebrated our first group birthday with the children in grand style. A local restaurant donated hamburger meals to the children and our hotel allowed us to bring them for a swim party. And that’s not all! Next there was a pinata, peanut butter treats, and gifts. These kids got to experience the fact that they are precious and special in God’s eyes – AND OURS!!! Everyone felt very loved and had a great day.
This was our last lesson with the children. Babu (Greg) explained the concept of sponsorship to them. They wanted to know the names of their sponsors, of course. We still have several sponsor slots open for these children and have begun the process of identifying more children to bring in to the home. Please consider making a difference in the life of a child in need through sponsorship. Becoming a Parent / Sponsor of a child connects them in a world where they have been “thrown away”. It has a lasting effect on both the child and the sponsor.
